NDG’s Benny skatepark officially inaugurated

“At the June 9 borough council meeting, one resident expressed some concern over the loss of greenspace in the park with the addition of the concrete skating surfaces. But Katahwa assured the resident that the area that had once been the old skateboarding area is now a micro-forest. So there is now, effectively, more greenspace in Benny Park than there was before.

The skatepark features a 9-and-a-half-foot deep cloverleaf bowl, and mini ramp (3 feet), and a street section, with several modules – pyramids, China brick bank, a 20-foot flatbar, and others.”

New Skatepark Project In Dorval

“”This is more street-related, which is the type of riding that I like, and more obstacles like the rail that I prefer. Transitions. Quarter pipes are way better. They are smooth. The park is great. Perfect. I love it,” Desmarais said.

You don’t have to be a Dorval resident to enjoy the park, but helmets are mandatory and protective gear is highly recommended.”
